Head of Energy Transition to drive our project management and account management efforts within the evolving energy sector. This key role will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and success of energy transition projects, with a particular focus on nurturing and expanding client relationships. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage project timelines and budgets, and ensure seamless communication and satisfaction with our clients.
With a dual focus on project and account management, this role demands both a strong technical understanding of energy transition initiatives and a client-centric approach that will foster long-term partnerships.
Your markets will cover but not be limited to Alternative Fuels, Carbon Capture (CCUS), Hydrogen and Oil & Gas.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision:
Develop and implement the company’s energy transition strategy, focusing on projects in renewable energy, carbon reduction, and other sustainable energy solutions.
Collaborate with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities within the energy transition sector and set ambitious goals for revenue, project volume, and client acquisition.
Align project and account management activities with N-ERGISE’s overall mission to drive sustainable energy solutions and business growth.
Project Management:
Oversee the full lifecycle of energy transition projects, from initial planning and scoping to delivery and close-out, ensuring quality, on-time, and within-budget delivery.
Establish and monitor KPIs for project performance, develop schedules, allocate resources, and implement risk management practices.
Utilise project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean) to enhance project delivery and improve efficiencies within the team.
Account Management:
Serve as the main point of contact for key clients, fostering strong relationships, understanding their evolving needs, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Proactively manage client accounts by conducting regular check-ins, addressing concerns, and anticipating future needs in line with industry trends.
Develop and execute strategies to expand existing client relationships, identifying and pursuing upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
Financial Oversight:
Maintain responsibility for project budgets, including forecasting, expense tracking, and ensuring financial accountability across projects.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate terms with vendors and clients as necessary to maximize project profitability.
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate reporting, cost estimates, and budget control.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and account managers, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting continuous professional growth.
Set individual and team goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching to develop skills and increase productivity.
Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across departments.
Stakeholder Management:
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project goals are met, including compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders, communicating project progress, risks, and outcomes clearly and concisely.
Actively participate in industry events and forums, representing N-ERGISE to clients and partners and contributing to thought leadership in the energy transition space.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about the latest advancements in renewable energy, carbon reduction, and sustainability practices.
Lead initiatives to adopt new technologies and approaches within project management and account management, enhancing N-ERGISE’s capabilities in energy transition.
Drive process improvements to optimize project efficiency, increase client satisfaction, and enhance overall service quality.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced certifications or a Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in project and account management, ideally within the energy sector, with a strong background in renewable energy or sustainable projects.
Proven success in managing large-scale projects, budgets, and client accounts, with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
Demonstrable experience in a leadership role, including team development and cross-functional collaboration.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CRM systems.
Knowledge of energy transition technologies, including renewable energy systems and carbon reduction solutions.
Understanding of regulatory compliance and industry standards for energy projects.
Leadership & Communication:
Exceptional leadership, team-building, and mentoring skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders.
Skilled at presenting complex technical information to a range of audiences, from technical teams to C-level clients.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:
Excellent analytical skills to assess project and account performance and recommend improvements.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and resolving issues efficiently.
Certifications:
PMP or PRINCE2 certification is strongly preferred.
Additional certifications in energy, sustainability, or account management are advantageous.
